Hardox For Ball Mills

A Ball Mills are a hollow cylindrical shell that revolves around its axis. Hardox 500 Plates, Hardox 550 Plates, Hardox 600 Plates are flexible grades for liner plates in mills, chutes, hoppers, crushers, silos, and other applications.

It’s half-filled with balls made of chrome steel, stainless steel, rubber, or ceramic. An abrasion-resistant substance, such as manganese steel or rubber, is typically used to line the inside of the shell.

A Ball Mill grinds material by revolving a cylinder with steel grinding balls.  Hardox Ball Mill feed should be no coarser than 80 percent passing 1/4″ on hard ores and 80 percent passing 1/2″ on soft ores.

Iron or steel balls are tumbled with the ore in ball mills. The balls are originally 5–10 cm in diameter but gradually wear away when the ore is ground.

The input to ball mills is normally 75 vol. – percent ore and 25 vol. – percent steel (on a dry basis). The ball mill works in tandem with particle-size detection instrument and size-control cyclones in a continuous circuit.
