High-strength low-alloy steel is alloy steel with superior mechanical properties and is immune to corrosion compared to carbon steel. To maintain formability and weldability, the material contains a carbon concentration of 0.05 to 0.25 %. Manganese and minor amounts of copper, titanium, calcium, vanadium, chromium, nickel, niobium, nitrogen, molybdenum, and rare-earth metals are among the other alloying elements.

Applications of High-Strength Low Alloy Steel

• HSLA steels are a basic way to reduce weight by increasing the strength of the steel. Weldability is good due to lean alloy composition and bendability is excellent.
