Description About Advanced high strength steel:

Advanced high-strength steel refers to a new generation of steel that offers high strength (up to 2,000 MPa) and durability while retaining the formability critical to the manufacturing process. AHSS primary grades are produced on state-of-the-art continuous annealing lines that deliver very high heat followed by rapid and controlled cooling of the austenite phase. Can be further controlled heating and cooling according to desired properties.

Composition of Material:

Ferritic-martensitic two-phase steel is a low to medium carbon material with 5-50% volume of fractionated islands of martensite dispersed in a soft ferrite matrix.   In addition to martensite, components of bainite and retained austenite may also be present; these are usually made when desired to improve the stretch formability of the edge. 

Process of Advanced high strength steel:

The difference lies in this production process and the finished structure of the steel. While traditional low carbon to HSLA steel grades has a microstructure of almost 100 rrit, AHSS/UHSS steels have various microstructures depending on the grade. The main material types used are dual phase, complex phase/multiphase, trip, martensite and pressure hardening steel.
