Duroxite® 400 Pin is an extremely wear- and heat-resistant hardfacing overlay pin used in harsh wear and heat environments. It is carefully developed to give high wear resistance and endurance in metal-to-metal wear applications with high temperatures. Its high quality is a result of the careful raw material selection and proprietary advanced processing methods. It can run at a temperature of up to 480 °C (900 °F) with the hardness of the Duroxite® overlay pin in service achieved up to 58 HRC. The Duroxite® 400 overlay pin is compatible with 12% Manganese Bushings, and it provides a Bearing System which is anticipated to last longer than conventional hardened surfaces, including induction heated and quenched 4140 pins.

Key Benefits

  • Offers exceptional wear resistance in the overlay and a durable inner core
  • Excels in applications involving torqueing and surface compression
  • Engineered to outlast both original equipment and manganese pins

Typical Applications

Duroxite® 400 was initially designed for dragline bucket components but has since found widespread use in various other applications. It is also utilized in heavy mining and industrial equipment, including dragline shovels, clamshell buckets, sheave pins, backhoe pins and crusher shafts.
Overlay pins can be customized through machining to suit the requirements of any specific application. For additional details on applications, refer to the Duroxite® Product brochure.

Tolerances

Dimensions

The diameter of Duroxite® 400 is guaranteed to fall within the standard tolerances of ±0.127 mm (±0.005”).

Roundness

Roundness tolerance can be guaranteed within ±0.254 mm (±0.010”).

Safety precautions

Welding or cutting Duroxite® products generates gases and harmful fumes that are chemically complex and challenging to classify. The primary toxic substance in these fumes is hexavalent chromium. It is recommended to use appropriate exhaust ventilation and fume-extraction torches, along with suitable protective clothing and respiratory protection for operators.
