Duroxite® 201 is a high-performance wear plate specifically designed for applications that experience extreme wear and impact. It features a unique combination of abrasive materials bonded to a Hardox®® 450 backing plate. This chromium carbide overlay plate is built to deliver outstanding performance in harsh environments, including industries like mining, cement, and power generation. The overlay consists of primary chromium-rich carbides and finely tuned, multi-alloy complex carbides all evenly distributed within a tough eutectic austenite matrix.

1) Surface hardness is measured on machined flat surface just below overlay surface.
2) ASTM G65 – Procedure A weight loss, is a standard test measuring sliding abrasion resistance using a dry sand/rubber wheel apparatus. ASTM G65-Procedure A is the most severe test method.
3) ASTM G65 – Procedure A weight loss, wear test is conducted at 75% depth of the overlay materials to ensure consistently good wear resistance from the top surface through to the depth of 75% of the overlay.
Microstructure
The microstructure of Duroxite® 201 consists of primary chromium-rich carbides and finely refined multi-alloy complex carbide resulting in a typical hardness range of 2500 to 3000 HK. These hard carbides are uniformly distributed within a tough eutectic austenite matrix, giving the material outstanding durability. The volume fraction of primary chromium-rich carbides ranges from 30% to 40%, with 7% to 10% of multi-alloy complex carbides creating a well balanced structure that improves both wear and impact resistance.
*) HK is the Knoop microhardness used primarily for very brittle materials or thin sheets.
Tolerances
Thickness
The overall and overlay thickness tolerances are guaranteed to be within ±10% of the specified thickness, ensuring consistent performance of the material.
Flatness
The plate’s flatness tolerance is guaranteed across a length of 1.5 meters (5 feet) ensuring consistency for a wide range of applications.

Delivery
Duroxite® 201 is supplied in an as-welded condition, though it can also be provided in a ground condition upon request, depending on the needs of the project.
Welding, cutting, forming and machining
For specific guidelines, please refer to the Duroxite® Products brochure or consult with a local technical support representative for tailored advice.
Welding or cutting Duroxite® products generates gases and toxic fumes, the major toxic component of which is hexavalent chromium. Safety can be ensured by proper exhaust ventilation and fume extraction torches. Proper protective clothing and respiratory protection should be worn by the operator.
